What is NeuralCam Live

NeuralCam Live is an iOS app that allows you to use your iPhone as a webcam, helping you look your best in video calls and streams.

How does it work

After a simple setup process, NeuralCam Live sends your iPhone camera’s feed towards your computer through an USB cable that connects the two.

NeuralCam Live helps you look better in video calls, using AI-powered professional video editing in real-time on your camera feed - these are the NeuralCam Live Styles. You can cycle through and preview them as soon as you install the app.

NeuralCam Live also helps you hide your background with the Head Bubble feature. It puts a circle around your head and it makes everything outside of it black, tracking your head and moving along with it, so your surroundings are always hidden.

Using the Gesture Guard feature, you’ll be able to avoid awkward moments like picking your nose or biting your nails in front of your camera. The Gesture Guard will blur the scene when it detects you doing any kind of face-touching activity. It also detects and blurs nudity, so you’re covered ;)

If you have a lot of meetings in the evening or at night, or you just want to hang with your friends, you’ll make great use of NeuralCam Live’s Low Light Mode. It helps you obtain a much brighter and clearer video feed.  

System Requirements

In order to transform your iPhone into a Smart Webcam with NeuralCam Live, you’ll need the following:

• An iPhone 6s or newer, running iOS 13 or newer
• A Mac running MacOS 10.14 or newer
• A USB cable

Currently, NeuralCam Live only supports Mac computers, but no worries, Windows support will be coming soon. 

How do I set up NeuralCam Live

To install NeuralCam Live, you’ll have to access the App Store on your iPhone, and search for “NeuralCam Live”. Or..you could just use this link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/neuralcam-live-smart-webcam/id1524933155

Once you download the app on your iPhone, connect your iPhone to your Mac with an USB cable and start the app on the iPhone.

After you provide the app access to use your camera, AirDrop the NeuralCam Live Plugin installer onto your Mac, then access your Downloads folder and double-click it to start the install.

You can also email yourself  a download link for the plugin from inside the iPhone app, or download it from here: https://neural.cam/live/NeuralCamLive-installer-1.1.1.pkg

Once you’ve installed the NeuralCam Live Plugin, check your connection by accessing this link: https://neural.cam/check - make sure to open the link in Chrome or Firefox, as Safari does not support any kind of virtual webcams (read more about this in the Compatibility section).

After a couple of seconds, your iPhone should start sending the video feed towards your Mac and you will see your camera's feed in the preview window.

Now you can use NeuralCam Live with any compatible browser or video call software!

How to uninstall NeuralCam Live

In order to uninstall the NeuralCam Live Plugin, you’ll have to follow these steps:

1. Press CMD + Space
2. Type in "terminal"
3. Hit enter
4. Run this command: sudo rm -R /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/NeuralCamLive.plugin
5. Enter mac password

That’s it, the NeuralCam Live Plugin is now uninstalled from your Mac.
